Hi everyone, I’m back, it seem only a few days back I just informed you that im on my Hiatus. Well, still I am, but I have enough time to blog about this topic.
I remember when I was still on junior high-school, I was so excited about the Prom night. I honestly can’t sleep without thinking on what will happen on the night of the prom. It is usually celebrate on the month of February. You know that I came from public school, that why our prom is held only in the covered court of the school, on February 16, 2005. (Sharp mind!) 🙂 I was supposed to wear PINK, since im a 3rd year student, but I love the color-blue during those time. So, I have my gown tailored, one month ahead before the date. Its a simple powder-blue A-line dress, with a shawl.
Now, its my niece turn for her precious moment on high school, which is promenade. She’s been asking me tons of questions. (and when I say tons, it really mean a lot) It’s normal for her age to ask too much question, because her date will be her ultimate crush/best friend. That’s why she have to look at her best.
I’m going to share to you, what I have told her.
Lets start.
1. Use waterproof make-up This is a must on a Prom. You will be having fun/ dancing all night long, of course no one wants a runny make up. You don’t want to end having a racoon eyes. Your foundation and eye make up are the most important part that needs to be waterproof. Your sweat can wash your make up and this product is the one that usually cause smudges and racoon eyes. Dont forget to use primer, it holds your make for a long time and help to stop smudges. If you have oily skin, don’t forget to bring your foundation for later touch-ups. Dont bring the whole make-up kit, but exception to the rule if you have your car with you, or you know someone on the school, and you can trust them with your things. Go ahead and bring you make up kit.
2. Use low-heeled shoes – Honestly ladies, you don’t need to wear your GAGA SHOES. If your tall enough, use the low-heeled shoes, so that you can enjoy dancing with your partner and friends. POSTURE is the most important thing, if you try to look small, people will see you as a small person. Straight body! Do it just like the models
CHEST OUT – STOMACH IN – ASS OUT 🙂
I ask my niece to wear the wedge type of shoes, because this kind of shoes will support your weight throughout the night and for easy balance. Unlike the stilettos.
3. Use a handbag – I remember during our Prom, my friend brings a knapsack bag. I was like “what the hell are you bringing, this is a Prom, not a Sci-camp” (I just wish that my friend wont be able to read this, or else im dead) The smaller the better. Bring those chic-bag which the only thing that you can put is cellphone, wallet, key and a compact powder. Like what I mention on the first part, compact powder is really important to blot those excess oil on your face.
4. Wear stockings – Believe me ladies, your legs will be much sexier if you wear your stockings. Besides this is also a support and protection for various vein and insect bites. Like me, my Prom is only held on the covered court of our school, and I can’t stop mosquitos to bite my legs. Insect repelant/lotion is a big NO-NO. For our protection, stockings is important in this kind of occasions.
5. Extra Pins – Accidents can happen, and you cannot stop it. Incase, something happen that night like button-popping moment or zipper-stucking moment. A pin can do wonders. One to two pins is enough for you to bring, since a pouch has a small compartment inside, you can place the pin there so that, if ever your date would open your pouch he wont see it that you are armed. 🙂
If all else fail, just enjoy the night.
Dance all the worries away..
Good luck ladies.
